3 months
I did actually take these pictures when she turned 3 months, it's just taken me this long to get them posted. I've been having trouble with blogger and it's about to drive me CRAZY. Anyway, our Lily Girl is doing great. It seems like she's just always been a part of our family. She's almost always happy. She sleeps and eats great. Smiles whenever she gets attention and belly laughs frequently. She has started cooing lots and I had forgotten what a sweet sound that is. We are totally in love with this sweet girl!

a marshall story
Tonight at dinner Marshall was given a cup of milk with a rubber spout. This particular cup now leaks because he has repeatedly pushed his chubby little finger into the spout and the leak valve is now broken. Scott had reminded him over and over again to stop sticking his finger in the spout as it causes a mess. Scott was clearing some dishes and looked over to find Marshall again sticking his finger in the spout. With frustration he said, "Marshall, uggghhh, I have asked you to stop doing that. Look at the mess you made." Without missing a beat Marshall said, "Well, I'm sorry. I made a mistake. Little boys make mistakes sometimes." Touche, little buddy. We all make mistakes sometimes. At least you can admit it!

nighttime shenanigans
Hilarious! We let Marshall stay up late and he turned delirious on us. He typically goes to bed between 7 and 7:30, This video was taken at 9:00. So it was late for him, but not unreasonably late. He just gets so tickled by his daddy.
Video Notes:
1. Marshall's new favorite show is "Jake and the Never Land Pirates." He sings it "Jake and the Lever-nand Pirates." I think it's cute so I sing it that way with him because I don't want him to correct it. The song he is singing in the video is a portion of the show's theme song.
2. When he laughs this hard he gets all raspy and cough-y.
3. No one has ever made me laugh as hard as he does.
4. Scott and I laughed just as hard when we watched this video back.
5. I can pretty much guarantee that when he wakes up in the morning he will sing, "Jake and the Lever-nand pirates and meeeee." And when he sings it he will expect Scott to "bonk" his head. The kid has a memory like an elephant.
6. He is the typical bossy oldest child.
7. At the end of the video I just think he looks adorable. :)

baby belly laughs
Lily has recently started giving us some sweet little belly laughs. She is such a precious girl and we are truly enjoying watching her little personality start to show. She loves any attention she gets and almost always responds with a huge smile. The kind where her whole face lights up. I love to hear my babies laugh.
Video Notes:
1. Scott is totally smitten with our Lily girl and it's cute.
2. During the video you can hear Marshall telling Scott how funny he is and he also says, "you're really awesome." Love that kid!
3. I did the videoing and I did a poor job. I apologize for causing motion sickness.

for documentation sake
Marshall and I had a very sweet time of snuggling, talking and praying tonight after we got home from church. He has started asking a lot more questions about Jesus and heaven, and Jesus living in our heart. He sometimes doesn't quite understand how Jesus lives in your heart if he lives in heaven. We tried to explain that his spirit comes to live and dwell in our heart. My mom and dad have a movie about horses called "Spirit." He thought that was hilarious. Apparently he pictured the wild horse named Spirit living in his heart. We are counting on his understanding getting better as he gets older. :) Tonight's prayer was sweet, innocent and precious and I just want to be able to remember it. Dear Jesus, Thank you for my mommy. Thank you for my daddy. Thank you for my sister. Thank you for my Marshall. Thank you for heaven. I want to go there with my mommy. I don't like it when she leaves me. Amen We continued to snuggle and then he folded his hands and said, "I want to talk to God another minute." Dear God, Thank you for Jesus. He is the King. Amen I need to add that he has the most awesome teacher in his classroom on Sunday mornings. Krystal, if you are reading this, we appreciate you so much. You are making a lasting impression on Marshall. We have had a lot of good conversations with him after he has been with you.

cloth diapered cutie
We made the switch to cloth diapers. I started cloth diapering Lily at the beginning of this week. So far, so good. I'm hoping we can do it for the long haul. I do have two rules about this cloth diapering journey: 1. no cloth diapers on Sunday (I just don't think that's fair to the nursery workers.) 2. no cloth diapers when we are traveling
So, for the most part this sweet booty will be in cloth!
Aren't cloth diapers so cute?
