Loving Fall
Marshall loves it when his cousins are here to play and I have a hunch his cousins don't mind being here to play with him either. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day and we had some good play time outside. These boys are the best!

Trick or Treat
I know no costume will beat the hot dog from last year but we had to come up with something. By "come up with," I mean whatever my sister had as a hand-me-down. We had two choices 1.) an elephant 2.) a penguin. We went with the elephant. Once he realized he couldn't get the hat off he just went with it. Gosh, I love this kid!

He looks more like a mad rabbit in this pic.
precious.
Boys
What is wrong with boys? I really don't think girls would walk around with a bucket on their head. They were really great about waiting their turn though. Any other toy and they probably would have fought over it, not the bucket. They laughed and giggled when someone else tried it on and were eager to get the same response when it was their turn.
I really think the bucket made them go a little crazy. Just look at the faces!!!

We're Back!!!
I took an unintentional blogging break for the month of October, but I'm back. So keep reading, there are several updates below. The last couple of weeks have been pretty uneventful, just lots of sweet time with my boy. We played lots and laughed lots and read lots and snuggled lots. He is really starting to try and communicate so much right now and his little personality just makes me laugh. Seriously, I don't think anyone will ever make you laugh harder than your own kid!
I took these pictures today while he was hard at play. He brought me the slippers to put on him. I think it is a real classy look.
Apparently I was interrupting a very important call because...
he turned his back to me to have his conversation.
These pattern blocks have brought much joy the last few days.

As seen...
Color
Coloring is one of Marshall's new favorite activities. He says, "cula, cula, cula" while he does it, totally cracks me up. I don't think we have a budding artist or anything but this momma sure does hang his pictures on the fridge!
He also needs some work on color recognition. He holds up a green crayon and says "lello" or a white crayon and says, "gee" (green). He is is just one, if he still does this in a year we have a problem.

happy with his masterpiece
don't worry...the crayons are non-toxic :)

now what?

Baylor Children's Museum
Back at the begininng of this month we headed to Texas for a wedding. We decided to drive which is a decision I won't discuss or complain about here. I'll just say that halfway there Scott said, "We're NEVER driving again!" I must say I won't argue with that. Marshall did pretty well with the exception of the last three hours of our trip home. That was a LOOONNNNNGGGG three hours. Despite the drive we had a great time visiting friends and family in Waco.
While we were in Texas we made it to the children's museum on Baylor campus. It was a great way to spend a rainy day. Marshall really enjoyed himself and we were pretty impressed with the museum. Burning off energy is always good for the afternoon nap, this was a good way to get rid of that little boy energy.

He played with bugs.

Rode a tricycle.

Ground some corn.

And went in a teepee with Daddy.
It was a great day!
