Working Vacation

Scott had some business to do in Charleston last week so Marshall and I decided to tag along and make a vacation out of it. We walked around downtown, went to the children's museum, shopped at the outlets, went to the beach, hit the aquarium, and went to the outlets once more! Marshall did great in the hotel and we learned that the boy moves around A LOT in his sleep. Every morning we woke to, "mama, dada, mama, dada, dada, dada, mama!" That's when we knew the day had begun. We're looking forward to our next working vacation.

He got many treats, or as he says, "teat." That would be cookies n' cream ice cream on his lips. We said, "no" to the giant gumball behind him! :)

He hated the sand.

Charleston Aquarium

I wasn't so sure about taking Marshall to the aquarium but Scott thought it would fun. He was right. The look on my little boy's face was pure joy. He stood at the big fish tank and just pointed and squealed. We tried to go to the next exhibit and he turned around to go stare at those fish. The aquarium was the perfect size, not huge, but big enough to take a couple of hours and enjoy family time. I was pretty excited about the penguin exhibit, I can tell you all about the four penguins that live there. They are on loan from the San Diego aquarium. I never knew aquarium's loaned there animals. Anyway, we had a really great morning at the aquarium.

There were two baby skunks at the aquarium and I still don't know why they were there. Not very aquatic.

Beach

We headed to the beach one evening during our little mini vacation. I got a few cute pictures of Marshall, despite his hatred of sand. What can I say, he's definitely MY boy. I totally understand his feeling toward sand. I HATE it too! I wouldn't be sad if I never had to feel sand again. Even with his shoes one he would freeze up and shake his head "no." We laughed and took pictures...then we picked him up. I had to get a few shots, he looked too handsome not to.

Charleston Children's Museum

While Scott was working...I mean playing in a golf tournament. (Some call that work, others call it play.) I took Marshall to the children's museum in downtown Charleston. We had so much fun playing there. Now I can't wait to take him to the new one that just opened in Greenville. He was too cute in his little smock playing in the water, he climbed all over the toddler gym, and even colored a picture. He's never used markers before and I think it's safe to say that he liked them! They did have a paint station as well, but I thought it best to save that activity for another day. I'm pretty sure we both would have been covered in paint and I really liked the jeans I was wearing.

He loved his first visit to the children's museum.

More than he knows...

I love this boy more than he knows. His little giggle just gets me, I never ever want to forget this sweet sound.

I love him more than he knows.

Happiness is....

snuggling with cousin,

balloons,
riding on the tractor,

pretending to take a picture of your little brother riding on the tractor.

It's the simple things.
