a (very) little about Marshall

Love this kid! I am such a sucker for a little boy in a bow tie.

He calls the crust of sandwiches the skin and it makes me smile every time. He calls creamy peanut butter the "soft peanut butter."

Tonight as we were driving he was telling us about the goats, chickens, ducks, and small horse that were at his school today. Scott asked him if he was able to pet the animals. Marshall responded, "Some of my friends did but I didn't because I didn't want dirty animal hands." I have to admit, I gave him a high five. I can appreciate animals from a distance but have no desire to live with them or touch them. He's definitely my boy!

The thing I appreciate most about Marshall is his tender heart. He is quick to apologize if he has disobeyed or wronged someone. Scott and I are learning to take a lesson from him and be quicker to apologize and do so with a true heart of repentance. Amazing how God uses a three year old to show us areas of sin and weakness.

We love you Mo! You are a great big brother, and an awesome kid.

hodge podge

Just some random pictures of the going-ons around here over the last couple of days.

Lily got a new dress.  Oh the cuteness...

Marshall had to have a picture with his sister since they were both in their cowboy/cowgirl jammies.  They were fresh out of the tub (therefore no bow on Lily and hair in her face) but he was so excited for a picture with her.  I was going to take their picture in the living room and then I noticed he was going outside.  I guess he is used to me taking his picture on the front steps.

Pictures with his sister turned into a quick game of hopscotch.  I mean it was all set up and just waiting on him to play.

Again with the dress!

15 months

Lily girl had her 15 month appointment yesterday and she continues to be on the small side with the exception of her head. Apparently, our kids have huge noggins.

weight: 22 pounds (60th percentile)
height: 30 inches (37th percentile)
head: 40 cm (84th percentile)

Lulu,
You are a joy and we love you so much. Baby girl, you're the best-you have a huge smile that can light up a room. Keep smiling sweet girl!

Easter

I love Easter and all that we celebrate.  Marshall is really starting to understand the significance of this day and we have enjoyed the conversations and questions we have had and received from him.
A few Easter pictures before we left for church:

The best we could get of two of them. It's almost impossible to get a good one of both of them at the same time.  Maybe one day...

The cuzzies!
A true success, all of them are looking at the camera and almost everyone is smiling.  Poor Charlie was ready for a nap…but seriously, look at the cuteness of all those bow ties.

Dollywood

We took off to our favorite Dollywood for the kids' spring break.  It is so great for the ages of all the kids.  There is a separate area with some of the smaller rides that Marshall and Lily are able to ride.  We always get there right when they open, stay a few hours and then head back to the cabin for afternoon naps then go back again in the evening.  This time we also went to the Dixie Stampede, think Medieval Times rodeo style.  We head so much fun and Marshall LOVED seeing all the horses.  We always have such a great time when we're there and leave looking forward to the next time we can go back.

Marshall enjoyed giving his sister and his dad a ride on the old fashioned cars.  Scott said Lily just danced to the oldies that were playing on the radio.

She thought she was so big riding on the carousel.

thumbs-up

First time on the "Shooting Star."  I thought he would chicken out and feel too scared but he hopped right in his seat and rode it over and over again.

Love those little hands up in the air.  The boy LOVES rides.

pure joy

Lily's face just about sums up how she feels about Dollywood.  We all feel that way about it!
