My Little Valentine is Six Months Old

Marshall is six months old today! I can't believe he is already 6 months, the time really does fly. Strangers have come to us and said, "Enjoy this time. They grow up so quickly." When he was a newborn I was so tired and thought, I just can't wait for him to sleep through the night. Then he did, and I thought, I just can't wait for him to sit up on his own. Now, I want to slow this whole thing down. Looking back, I would have enjoyed the quiet time we spent together in the rocking chair at 1a.m. and 4a.m. a little more. I probably would have lingered a little longer, kissed a few extra kisses, snuggled a few extra snuggles and not been in such a rush to get back to my bed. A friend recently told me, "the days are long but the years are short." There is such truth in that statement. While I can't slow down time, I can slow down and enjoy the time, even though it truly does go so quickly.

Marshall is currently...
*smiling and laughing all the time
*eating solid food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and some milk before bed) (peas are his favorite food)
*sleeps 7:00-7:00 (he wakes up SO happy)
*napping two times a day, about two hours each nap
*attempting to crawl (we have caught him up on his knees a bunch, he just needs to start pushing himself forward)
*loving to take walks (we do this about three times a day, he loves to be outside)

My baby is getting to be such a big boy.

We love you Marshall Man! Of course we celebrated with a photo shoot. Enjoy!

Who's six months? Yep, this turkey is six months!

still 21 and double ear infections/upper respiratory infection

I ended up taking Marshall to the doctor yesterday as he started to run a fever over 101. He still weighed in at 21 pounds. This might mean that his weight gain is starting to level out, I hope so. Anyway, he has an ear infection in both ears and an upper respiratory infection. His doctor thinks that these are secondary infections due to the RSV. He started his antibiotic yesterday and he is looking better, hopefully he is feeling better too. I don't know for sure because he doesn't talk to me yet. :) My poor little buddy has been such a trooper, he really hasn't been very fussy, just not sleeping very soundly at night since his little ears have been hurting him.

one cute pic...just because I couldn't resist

Mommy's Helper and a Photo Shoot

I was folding laundry today and Marshall kept reaching for the basket. I ended up putting him in the basket to "help" me match the socks. I ended up just taking lots of pictures of him playing in the basket. I still haven't matched the socks, but I did get some cute pictures.

so silly!

Happy Valentine's Day

To all of you too far away for hugs...He'd hug you if he could!

Marshall would like to say, "Happy Valentine's Day. I love you."

Crazy Hair

Scott gave Marshall a bath the other night while I fixed dinner. This is what I saw when he brought him out. :)

Here we go again.

You may recall Marshall's RSV diagnosis a few weeks ago. I thought we were passed that and definitely feeling better. Yesterday it all started again. He has the runny nose, watery eyes, and hacking cough again. I was going to wait and see if it got better over the next several days since he has his six month well-baby check on Monday, but I may need to bring him in sooner. The poor kid can't seem to catch a break.

Booty

We usually put Marshall in a one piece blanket sleeper for bed, however, we have had some very warm weather lately (74 degrees yesterday) so we switched it up a little. Last night we put him to bed in a thinner cotton two piece pajama set. Scott and I were ready to head to bed and I went to check on him before we turned in for the evening. I cracked up when I looked in his crib. Apparently as he was scooting around and getting cozy, his pants slid down a bit. This is what we found...

Proud Papa

Apparently to TRULY be a Crawford, you must LOVE basketball. I-Pa and Nana got Marshall his first basketball goal for Christmas in order to instill the love of the game. He hasn't been able to do much with it until this week. I brought out the goal and the balls and let's just say, he TRULY is a Crawford. Scott was oh so proud of his little man. Marshall was amazed at his mad b-ball skills. He cannot yet hit the three's like his daddy, he'll work on that. (FYI: Scott had 7 threes at his game last night! I'm the proud wifey! If he ever called me that, I'd kill him!) Enjoy the pictures of the future Vinnie Johnson.

Spoon

Marshall has been eating solid foods for about two months now. Once he finishes eating I usually let him play with the spoon and empty bowl. For some reason, it was extra fun on this particular day. (warning: His face is completely covered in his lunch, I don't bother to wipe him down until he is done playing with the dirty utensil.)

Fun with a Tongue

I mentioned in a previous post that Marshall has found his tongue and has become quite fond of this new "toy." He constantly has his tongue out of his mouth playing with it. He has also figured out how to blow air through his tongue and thinks the noise he can make is pretty funny. It's definitely not hard to get a picture of him with his tongue out, in fact, it's harder to get a picture of him with his tongue in. It was hard to pick just a few "tongue out" pictures for this post since I have several hundred of them!

Dad's Home...

and Marshall couldn't be happier! Scott has been out of town the past two weeks for training in Boston. He was able to come home for about one day between the two weeks of travel. He is here to stay and Marshall has been all smiles since his Daddy has been home. I've had a similar facial expression now that he's home too! Let's here it for dads!!!

Okay, so in this picture he was just REALLY enjoying bananas.
