hard at play
I was mopping the kitchen floor and I heard Marshall babbling to himself in the living room. I poked my head around the corner and saw him happily playing with his Lego's. He looked up at me and said, "match." He was trying to put like colors together! He learns so much fromm being with his cousins. Sam and Jack like to play Memory and ever since watching them, he understands and says the word "match." It amazes me how much he absorbs and how quickly he learns.

I never want to forget what his chubby little hands look like trying to get those leggos together.
our new breakfast, lunch, and dinner guests
Meet "tettys." These guys have joined us at the table for every meal the last couple of weeks. I see no sign of them being dis invited either. Marshall makes sure he brings them to the table for every meal. It is my job to make sure they are propped up properly. If either "tetty" falls over, I am to sit him up. Marshall shares his food and his sippy cup of milk with his bears too. Fortunately, they are cheap to feed.
He's been quite pleased with our dinner guests.

spinach
I try to get as many leafy greens into Marshall as possible. He can't quite handle raw spinach yet so I cook it and add it to other foods. He loves scrambled eggs with spinach. I was making spaghetti one night this week and decided to throw some spinach in the sauce. He loved that too. I loved that he had a piece of spinach on his nose. He was completely unaware.
I love this kid!

poage park
Scott was having a bit of deja vu when we went to Poage Park with Marshall while in Waco. Scott grew up just minutes from this park and spent time playing here when he was a little boy. This time it was Marshall's turn to burn off some little boy energy at Poage. It was freezing cold that day but Marshall did not care even a little. He was just happy to be outside on a playground.
pretty sure this is the same slide that was there when Scott was little, still works great though!

my two favorite boys. love them.

Christmas Morning (this is so late)
I didn't take our good camera to Texas for Christmas and have just now remembered to upload our pictures from our time there. I would have skipped blogging about it altogether since it's now mid January but I blog mainly as a type of memory/scrapbook for Marshall.
We had done our little family Christmas before we left for Texas but wanted to have something for him on Christmas morning. We bought him a little ride-on toy once we got there and had it by the tree on Christmas morning.
One of my favorite memories of Christmas this year is Marshall saying, "Jesus" when we asked him whose birthday it was. So precious. My hope as he grows is to know the importance of this celebration and grow in his understanding of what the birth of Jesus meant then and still means today.

He rounded the corner and saw his new toy by the tree. He was pretty excited.

He is signing thank you.

Tanner got him Jordan's. He's ready to play some b-ball.
