Unredeemed

I love this song. Amy, the woman singing had this to say about it:

"By the time we came to choose "Unredeemed" for the album, it had been almost 3 years in the making. We were in the process of choosing one last single for the album and I had listened to dozens of songs. Truth be told, I didn't want to listen to one more; and I didn't. All day long I ignored Todd's e-mail with the demo attached. Finally, at about midnight, I figured I should listen to it so I could say that I had. I listened to "Unredeemed" and cried my eyes out. I spent about an hour just listening to it over and over. I've never had such an intense emotional reaction to a song before. Through those lyrics God reminded me that the people in my life who have gone astray will one day be redeemed; that the feeling of doubt and low self-esteem will one day be redeemed; that no matter how bad the pain is in this life, He will redeem it. That night I laid some things at Jesus' feet, and I can only pray that as you listen to the song, you are as moved as I was."

I, like Amy, was in tears when I first heard this song. And I too had to lay some things at Jesus' feet that night. (Be sure to pause the music on the playlist at the bottom of the blog.)

Moves

Mo is napping, Sam, Jack, and I are at the play-dough table making some awesome doughy goods. Jack just jumped up and said, "Hey Hide, watch my moves." He then busted out with some of the craziest moves I have ever seen from a three year old. He didn't stop either. He just kept going. Sweet boy then looked at me and said, "Are those great moves?" I love this boy. He constantly cracks me up. I wish I'd had the camera handy. However, the camera is not nearby since the play dough table is in the laundry room, which is in the basement. Don't judge, I just didn't want my upstairs destroyed or play-dough mashed into new carpet. The laundry room has been the perfect spot and it has helped me get the laundry done!

Poor Baby

We have been up to our eyeballs in diapers these last few days. Poor baby has been having some tummy trouble and we just haven't been able to get rid of it. While I feel terrible for him, I have enjoyed the sweet snuggles with my boy. This afternoon he seemed the worst, not at all interested in playing. I turned on a movie for him and got him some juice and he rested in the living room for quite awhile. If you know Marshall, this is so unlike him. He is typically on the go and doesn't stop for anything. Poor baby. I hope he starts feeling more like himself, I miss my active little boy.

Katie and Tanner Visit

Marshall's Aunt Katie and her "special friend" Tanner came to visit. We had so much fun with them and are so glad they were able to make it out and spend some time with us. Marshall was quite taken with Katie and Tanner, he has been all about Mommy for awhile now, but I seem to have been replaced these last few days. He loved all the attention they gave him. He also liked the Rangers hat he got from them, although not as much as he LOVES his Sox!

Thanks for visiting Katie and Tanner. You definitely need to come back again! He misses you already.

Okay, so maybe he does need a little trim. I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

I don't know what Marsh is doing here, but Katie looks good!

Tanner took a morning nap while Marshall did. I know the feeling, there are days he wears me out too!

First Friday Parade

We went downtown for the first Friday parade last week and Marsh had such fun. What's not to love about a picnic on Bowman Field, running after kids, patting puppies, stealing cookies from cousins, and bopping to the beat of the Clemson band? We are going to make this a family tradition. We had a great time just being outside and enjoying the excitement for the start of college football. Clemson fans are serious and such fun!

Egg on the Head

Marshall took a pretty good tumble at the park last week, he cried but not much and not for too long. About thirty minutes later I was pushing him in the swing and his hair separated in the front and I saw a huge egg and a bruise. I was a bit concerned because it looked bad. It's so hard to tell how hurt he really is because he seems to have a high threshold for pain.

Sweet Face

He has a sweet face, right? His attitude is not always so sweet. How do I get a one year old to understand and respond to discipline? I'm lost. Scott and I were discussing this and he cracked me up when he said, "Dobson says you can start spanking at 18 months. Boy, I have a feeling my hand and his butt are gonna be good friends!" I'm glad we can laugh about it now, but he does seem to have a pretty strong will, so we may not be laughing later (say in about 6 months). Scott and I were such submissive children, how did this happen? We're praying he develops a submissive spirit.
