Jumperoo

Marshall loves this jumperoo. It is endless fun for him and it allows me to get a few things done too!

Eatin' in the Tub

We had a busy evening last night. We got home later than anticipated and Marshall had not yet eaten dinner, but he still needed a bath too! What to do? We decided to do both at the same time. He absolutely loved it, and it's the fastest and easiest way we have ever fed him. He gobbled it right up and anything that was spilled, we just washed away very easily. I'll have to remember this for the next busy evening!

Quote of the Day

While Marshall was rolling around playing on the floor, Scott looked at me laughing and said, "I can't believe we have a kid!" It is hard to believe at times!

Just feeling a little emotional today.

I came across this poem as I was reading another blog. I know Marshall is only six months old, but I feel like he is growing so fast. I wish I could freeze time and just let him stay my baby. I am going to frame this poem and put it in Marshall's room. I know some days I just need a little reminder to slow down and hold my baby while he still is just that, a baby.

Song for a Fifth Child.

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Spring will have to wait...

We had a little winter storm last night. It has been the first one this year. I was so excited to take Marhall out in his first snow and see what his reaction would be. He didn't really know what to think, his expression didn't change much. He stared at all that white stuff falling to the ground. We had a great time, Sam and Jack had a snowball fight with Loni and I was able to get a few pictures of all the boys. I say we had a great time, that was until the power went out. Fortunately, Sam happened to have a flashlight at the table with him when it went out and he jumped up and said, "I'm prepared!" He saved the day! (I'll do several snow posts since I have so many pictures both of the snow in progress and the morning after.)
