monthly pictures

We have taken monthly pictures even though we haven't been good about blogging those pictures. Our Lily girl is just about as sweet as they come. She LOVES her big brother and looks for him when he isn't around. She has five teeth and is working on one more. Hopefully that will be it for a while. Those teeth hurt coming in. So far she has said, mama, more, bubba (Marshall), ba (bottle). She also has some cute little tricks: growling like a tiger, so big, and blowing raspberries. She started crawling at about 7 months. She is quite content with crawling and shows no sign of being an early walker like her big brother. That is okay with me! We love this girl so very much and are blessed to have her in our family.

we tried...

We all had on our red, white and blue and decided we would attempt a family picture. Sounds easy, it wasn't. Getting two young kids to look at the camera at the same time is just about impossible.

Almost a good one, except Lily and I are out of focus. Soooo close.
Eventually we gave up and just took one of me with kiddies. Maybe next time we'll get a good one of all of us. I doubt it, but maybe.

he loves to read

One of my favorite times of day is either before nap or bed. Marshall picks out several books, we snuggle in his bed and read. Such a sweet time to snuggle and unwind a bit. Today I was getting Lily down for her nap and told Marshall to pick out a few book and wait for me in his bed. I walked in and he was "reading" his selections. He has many of his books memorized so he was audibly telling the story.




He spotted me and said, "Mom, I'm tryin' to read here."
And he went right back to it.

6 months

How have six months already passed? Here's our best girl at half a year. She really is such a love. So smiley and giggly and she just has a sweet disposition. She goes with the flow and is happy to watch her brother or cousins and beams when she gets attention too. Her brother was playing "BOO" in these pictures. Her reaction didn't let him down.

they just get me. Some days they look extra blue...today was one of those days.
