couponing

In an effort to save money on groceries I have started some serious couponing. Our church had a "Couponing 101" conference that I attended and things started to click. I am still very new at all this couponing stuff but I feel good about the success I have had so far. We make a weekly trip to Publix. Yes, WE, we make it a family trip each week. Marshall loves going to "Puglix." Scott takes both kids in one cart and walks them around the store while I get all the groceries. Since starting couponing I haven't paid more than $1.50 for cereal and I have learned that toothpaste is FREE! I still have a lot to learn but I'm excited to save my family some money by using coupons effectively.

I got all of the groceries in these two pictures for $51.00

Before coupons my total was $130.00. I love watching my total go down as they scan my coupons. It just makes me happy.

being a big brother is hard work

2 months

(Lily's 2 month pictures haven't been put on the computer yet, I will get those posted soon.)

We took Lily for her two month appointment yesterday. The best news of all was when the doctor said, "Well...I think she's just perfect." We think so too! Before we went Scott was commenting that he thought she seemed very short, perhaps he was even thinking we had a little person. I have been thinking she's been looking significantly longer lately so we were excited to see how much she has grown.

Stats:

weight: 12 pounds 2.5 ounces (75th percentile)
length: 22 inches (30th percentile)
head: 38.9 centimeters (50th percentile)

So Scott was right, she is on the shorter side. I'm going to go back and check Marshall's 2 month stats when I have an extra few minutes and see how they compare. I know for sure he was over 14 pounds at two months. Two pounds is pretty significant on that little body, she definitely feels more delicate than Marshall did.

We are so grateful for a healthy baby.

marshall man

When did he get so big? I need him to slow down and just stay 2. He tells me that he can't, though. :(

this boy

this boy...knows how to make my day.

We were outside playing together and he looked at me and said, "you're the awesomest, best mommy in the whole world."

this boy...protects his baby sister.

We had tornado warnings last night. Marshall was pretty frightened of the thunder and lightening. I explained to him that he was safe and I wouldn't let anything happen to him. Lily was starting to fuss and Marshall said, "It's okay Lily, big brother's here. I will keep you safe. Don't be scared, brother's here." SO cute that he assumed she was fussing because she was scared too.

this boy...is curious.

Scott was leaving to run a few errands and Marshall wanted to know specifically where he was going. He asked him, "Are you going to Dollar General?" We both laughed because he has never been to a Dollar General. We just don't shop there. He amazes us with what he knows.

this boy... is SO excited about a certain Aunt's upcoming wedding.

When we ask him what he's going to do at Aunt Katie's wedding he responds, "I shake my little booty." He's more excited about dancing at the reception than the actual ceremony.

this boy...LOVES green.

I mean, he seriously LOVES the color green. One day he told me, "Mommy, green's MY color." He wants green EVERYTHING. He would where a green shirt everyday if he could. It's just that eventually, the green clothes need to be washed. His favorite song is G-R-E-E-N, and he sings and spells it perfectly.

this boy...has a new fascination with American flags.

The boy can spot them from a mile away. He has also learned "You're a Grand Old Flag." It is pretty precious to hear his sweet voice sing this song.

I love this boy...and all the little things that make him who he is.

Marshall, you are such a blessing to our family.
