just sweet
Some of my favorite times to take pictures of Marshall is when he is eating breakfast. There are two reasons: 1. he is so happy and playful in the morning. 2. He is stuck in his high chair and I can actually get a picture of his face rather than the back of his head.
Thanking Jesus for food. His prayer goes like this, "Dear Jesus, Thank you for my food. Bless it to my body. Amen"
Apparently, not too impressed with the menu!
haircut in a major way
As the weather warmed up, Marshall's hair seemed to be making him very hot. He was getting so sweaty and his hair would just stick to his face. We decided maybe it was time to cut his sweet baby hair. I admit, I was very unsure going in, but I think he looks adorable and we are able to see so much more of his cute face. Some days he asks for a mohawk and other days he tells me, "no, mohawk." It just depends on his mood.

myrtle beach
Scott had a business trip to Myrtle Beach and we decided to make it a mini family vacation. We were able to stay in a great hotel on the beach that also had a sand bottom children's pool. Marshall didn't like the feel of the sand at first, but quickly got used to it. It was a great little get-away for our family.
This is the smile he now gives whenever he sees a camera. We have to try really hard to get a natural smile on camera.

helping dad
One of Marshall's favorite things to do right now is water the garden with Scott. When Scott tells him he is going to water the garden, Marshall runs around the house frantically looking for the closest pair of shoes. When they come in, he proudly tells me, "water corns." (I think it's pretty cute that he calls them "corns," so I don't correct him.) He also started playing in the garden as if it were a sand box, we quickly put a stop to that. We went ahead and purchased a sand box for the back deck. He's been loving it!

hunting eggs
I wasn't sure Marshall would understand the whole egg hunting thing, but he got it and he LOVED it! He knew there were treats in there and he wanted to find as many as he could. My mom put money in some as well but he was more interested in the eggs with candy.
We did enjoy the fun Easter traditions of egg hunts, baskets, and candy. However, my most favorite memory of Easter was asking Marshall, "Why do we have Easter?" He responded very excitedly, "JESUS!" I look forward to the years when he has a better understanding and we can really have little conversations about why JESUS makes Easter so special.
