cool kid
Marshall has been loving his sun glasses or any glasses for that matter. Scott has had to make a conscious effort to put his glasses out of reach. Marshall has already done a good bit of damage to them. Anyway, he hasn't quite mastered putting them on by himself but since his response to me helping him is "do it," I guess he'll figure it out on his own.

Donut
I must start by saying, one of Marshall's favorite treats are donuts. His most favorite are the chocolate cake donuts at Dunkin's (he has great taste). Every once in awhile we will stop and get him a couple munchkins. He holds one in each of his chubby little hands and gets the sweetest little grin on his face. He will happily say, "doe-doe" while he eats.
One evening last week I was putting him to bed, we were lovingly looking at each other and this conversation took place:
me: "Marshall, I love you so much. You are such a good boy."
Marshall: "Mama?"
me: "Yes, buddy." (I was fully expecting him to say, "uv oo.")
Marshall: "Doe-doe."
me: "You love doe-does don't you?"
Marshall: "Good."
me: "You're right. Doe-does are good."
Marshall: "mmmmmm"
I love that boy, apparently HE just really LOVES donuts!

18 month stats
Marshall and I went to the doctor this morning for his 18 month well check. He seems to be stretching out as his weight is no longer in the 90th percentile. I'm a little sad about this, he's looking more like a boy and less like a baby.
Stats:
weight-27 pounds (75th percentile)
height- 32 5/8 inches (75 th percentile)
head-large (no longer "off the charts big" though, 95th percentile)
And because I know a post is no fun without a picture; here's a picture of my boys. They kinda look alike huh? I love them!

blast from the past
Ahhhhhhh...
how have 18 months passed already?
I've said it before buddy, but mommy really does need you to stop all this growing up stuff. You are 1 1/2 today. The time has really flown, I have loved every stage. The stage you are in right now is my favorite, you are such fun. Your little personality shines and you bring such joy to our life.
Here's what you're into lately...
-you sleep with two loveys, a blankie, and three tettys. you take inventory when we put you to bed and make sure you have all of your things.
-balls, blocks, cars, trucks, and planes are your favorite.
-you like to go fast.
-you love to read before bed, always asking for "more."
-your most favorite thing to read before bed is your "biiiiiiible." You ask for your Bible as soon as we sit down together. (I love this about you.)
-your smile is sooooo big and bright.
-your new favorite thing is the shower.
-you give sweet hugs and kisses, you just started trying to make the kiss sound.
-whenever you want a little treat, you always request a "do-do." (donut)
-my favorite words/phrases you say right now are, "pizzi" (pizza), "do-do" (donut), "ho jew" (hold you), "uv oo" (love you). I'll be sad when you start correcting some of these sweet speech patterns.
-you are becoming quite independent, telling mommy and daddy "do it" frequently.
-you say more words than we can count. you have surprised us several times saying words we didn't even know you knew.
-"no" happens to be your favorite word and you say it frequently. we are working on this with you. :)
Marshall,
Mommy and daddy love you more than you know. You are a special gift from God and we are forever grateful. I am so glad that God put you in our family. We love you sweet boy.

Sledding
A few things about the video...
1. We got to the hill at 11:45. Much of the snow had melted and the grass had started to poke through. Kinda lame, but still fun.
2. Scott doesn't have a steady hand when using the video camera.
3. On our way to the hill I was reminiscing about the fun I had sledding as a child. Scott said, "I've never been sledding before." What? Excuse me? Did you just say you have NEVER been sledding?
4. We will be buying a sled if we happen to ever find one. We went with an old knee board from my dad's boat. It was a dismal failure. Thankfully, a nice family let us borrow their extra sled.
