santa came to town

Santa happened to show up at Tom and Staci's house one evening while we were over there. He even left Sam and Jack an early Christmas gift, The Elf on the Shelf. The boys were very excited to see Santa Clause in their house. Marshall gave Santa the same reaction he had given a few weeks earlier when he sat on his lap. Let's just say he is not yet a fan.

He wanted nothing to do with him, that might have been different had he known it was really Pop.
that is an all out ugly cry!

Holly Wild

Last week we went to Holly Wild. There are lights and animals that you feed from your car, and at the end of the route there is a bonfire and petting zoo. Marshall loved all the lights and music but hated the animals approaching our car. I hated the animals sticking their heads in the car too. The ostrich was especially scary to him, I guess he's never seen a bird that big before. He loved the petting zoo and bonfire. I think next year he might like the animals a little better, I don't think my opinion will change in a year, however.

Holly Wild Petting Zoo

Once we got through the craziness of the free roaming animals, we made it to the petting zoo area. Marshall was much more comfortable when the animals were behind a fence. I can't say I blame the kid. He loved wandering around and watching people feed the animals. He didn't quite get up the courage to feed the goats or deer himself. He was much more content to watch.

more holly wild pics

Jack LOVES animals and was fearless around them. I was nervous the camel was going to get a few fingers along with the food Jack was feeding him, fortunately Jack came home with all of his digits. At one point he did say, "He's a little hand eater!"

Marshall wanted to give it a try but chickened out within a few inches of the deer's mouth.
