Katie and Tanner Visit

Marshall's Aunt Katie and her "special friend" Tanner came to visit. We had so much fun with them and are so glad they were able to make it out and spend some time with us. Marshall was quite taken with Katie and Tanner, he has been all about Mommy for awhile now, but I seem to have been replaced these last few days. He loved all the attention they gave him. He also liked the Rangers hat he got from them, although not as much as he LOVES his Sox!

Thanks for visiting Katie and Tanner. You definitely need to come back again! He misses you already.

Okay, so maybe he does need a little trim. I just can't bring myself to do it yet.

I don't know what Marsh is doing here, but Katie looks good!

Tanner took a morning nap while Marshall did. I know the feeling, there are days he wears me out too!

First Friday Parade

We went downtown for the first Friday parade last week and Marsh had such fun. What's not to love about a picnic on Bowman Field, running after kids, patting puppies, stealing cookies from cousins, and bopping to the beat of the Clemson band? We are going to make this a family tradition. We had a great time just being outside and enjoying the excitement for the start of college football. Clemson fans are serious and such fun!

Egg on the Head

Marshall took a pretty good tumble at the park last week, he cried but not much and not for too long. About thirty minutes later I was pushing him in the swing and his hair separated in the front and I saw a huge egg and a bruise. I was a bit concerned because it looked bad. It's so hard to tell how hurt he really is because he seems to have a high threshold for pain.

Sweet Face

He has a sweet face, right? His attitude is not always so sweet. How do I get a one year old to understand and respond to discipline? I'm lost. Scott and I were discussing this and he cracked me up when he said, "Dobson says you can start spanking at 18 months. Boy, I have a feeling my hand and his butt are gonna be good friends!" I'm glad we can laugh about it now, but he does seem to have a pretty strong will, so we may not be laughing later (say in about 6 months). Scott and I were such submissive children, how did this happen? We're praying he develops a submissive spirit.

the proof is in his mouth

I realized I actually got a picture of mulch in his mouth at the park yesterday.

On a related note, we attended a playgroup today and the eating of rocks, dirt, and mulch continued. I would have thought that after a couple times he would stop, but no, the battle continues. So far...he wins.

Perfect Day at the Park

I took all three boys to the park today to play and have a picnic. The high was 75 here and it was perfect park weather. We had a great time playing outside without sweating the whole time. It was actually pretty windy and overcast so we all wore long sleeves. This makes me so excited for fall. Marshall ate some mulch and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Please, someone tell me that my child isn't the only one that eats dirt, mulch, rocks etc. Not only does he eat these things, he doesn't at all seem bothered when he puts them in his mouth and he gets upset when I try and get them out of his mouth. I don't think all kids do this, maybe they do??? Maybe? I hope he's not the only one!
