Birthday Fun

We had Marshall's first birthday party this afternoon. He had fun but I think he got a little overwhelmed once we started cake. He didn't even open a single gift, we brought them home and I will open them with him in the morning. There was just too much to see and do, no time to sit and open gifts.

I am so grateful for the time that my sister gave in order to decorate Marshall's cake (Thank you soooo much, Staci). It turned out better than I expected, it really was too cute. I think she could open a little business on the side. She always does an awesome job with her cakes, the octopus was no exception.

The biggest surprise of the evening was Marshall's dislike of the cake. He has had cake before and loved it. Tonight he just wasn't interested. Oh well...he was interested in the ice cream! Enjoy the pictures of his party. I also posted two more posts with just pictures because it's quicker to do it that way than to wait on blogger to let me download them on the same post.

New Tradition

Our birthday tradition is to take Marshall's photo in one of Scott's old dress shirts. I think it will be a neat way to watch him grow each year. He was very cooperative this morning and I was able to get a few good shots. He did have one balloon since it was his first birthday, unfortunately I cut it off in almost every picture and then it popped. Marshall was pretty sad about that. We will add a balloon each year. I just love this little guy. He makes me laugh harder than anyone ever has. Enjoy a few photos from his one year photo shoot. I may add another post later with a few more picture because it's so hard to just pick a few.

The video is 22 minutes long. Heidi thought it was to long, but I think its perfect.
