He's Excited
So Wrong
Why is Marshall so happy? Would you believe he is just VERY excited about some processed meat that his Aunt Staci bought him? It's true. I like to call these "lil sticks" a "meat treat." Treat because I would have NEVER bought them for him. I had seen these "meat treats" in the store before and thought, "that's disgusting, people buy that for their kids?" What's funny is that I know Staci didn't buy "meat treats" for her kids. Oh no, it truly is a special treat she bought just for her nephew.
There are several things that are just wrong about "meat treats."
1. the color-so pale and just white looking
2. the texture-it's like gourmet dog food and smells just as bad
3. the shape-we all know that hot dogs are pretty much the number one choking food for kids. These "lil sticks" are shaped like little hot dogs. I wasn't comfortable just giving him the whole stick so I did cut it up, like that makes it any better!
They are so wrong in so many ways, but look how happy they made him.

Seriously, look at these things.

He pretty much polished off the whole jar at lunch.

Snuggle Bug
Marshall has started sleeping with a lovey and he takes his nightly bottle with it as well. He especially likes to pull it up over his face and rub it over his eyes. I guess he likes how soft it is on his little face. Scott and I love this sweet snuggle time with our boy. He totally relaxes and most nights falls asleep in a matter of minutes. Such a snuggle bug!
I promise...we do feed the boy!
I guess the whole teething thing is causing Marshall to chew on anything and everything. Or it could be that he's a baby and babies tend to be pretty oral.

here he is taking a bite out of the couch
deciding...will this be good to snack on?

yes, I think it would be

chomping on Scott's hat...pretty gross!

Feeding Himself
The last couple of weeks have been a time of Marshall learning how to pick up food and get it into his mouth. He has really refined this new skill in the last week or so. He especially loves to feed himself puffs! Once he got this figured out he was pretty proud of himself.

waving to make sure I saw he did it all by himself (he waves backwards and it is so cute!)

almost in his mouth

it's easier just to cram it in there

waving again, just to make sure I saw that puff go in
