He is Risen!!! (Day 7)

Happy Easter!!! I am so thankful to serve a risen Savior. Having Marshall made me really think about the sacrifice of God's only son. I had a little different perspective this year.

We had a great Easter with family. Marshall enjoyed digging through his basket of Easter goodies too! I think his favorite gift was his new Sperry Top Sider shoes, at least that was my favorite, I think he actually liked his touch and feel book best. Our new tradition is to get him Easter shoes for his basket each year. He also got some books, a sippy cup, a monkey plate, and a photo album book with pictures of his family in Texas. That way we can talk about you all and he can look at a picture of your face! Pretty cool huh?

Marshall looked precious in his sweet little Easter outfit but he wasn't too excited about a photo shoot this morning. Oh well, we got a few cute shots. The most amazing part of today... he actually fell asleep in a nursery worker's lap. He never does that! Sweet boy was so tired, when we got down there to get him he was completely out!

My mom made a great lunch and then we enjoyed the beautiful weather with a quick boat ride. I think Marshall is in for a great summer. He was so happy out on the water. (Stay tuned for boat pics.)

I made it the whole seven days with a post each day. I may be signing off for a day or two.

Untitled Post (Day 6)

Not much to blog about today. We are having kind of a quiet Easter weekend. Scott and I did some work in the yard while Marshall napped this morning. I should have taken before and after pictures. We still have a lot to do, but it looks so much better already.

Our plan is to go to the park and have a picnic lunch and let Marshall enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather we are having today. I'll be sure and take pictures of our fun family outing. For now, enjoy the pictures of this happy boy hanging out in his cousin Jack's old shirt. He gets to wear lots of his cousin's old clothes. Hooray for hand-me-downs and for a sister that has the same taste when it comes to clothing for our boys!

He's sporting a little bit of bed head here. I didn't notice it until after I took the pictures, but he is looking a bit poofy.

Kisses (Day 5)

Marshall has started learning what "kiss" is and he has an interesting way of giving kisses. He comes in with mouth opened wide and many times with his tongue out. I've always said, "there's no other way to kiss but with passion!" My nephews even know the phrase, "kiss with passion." I have a picture on my fridge of Sam and me sharing such a kiss. It is so sweet, his little eyes are closed... absolutely precious. Apparently Marshall thinks kissing with passion involves lots of drool and a tongue. We have a bit more learning to do. I will take one of his wet kisses any day. That is, when he isn't distracted by a crumb on the floor or a bird tweeting outside (just about everything distracts him these days) and will actually give me a kiss.

Yesterday I put him in front of the full length mirror in our bedroom to see what he would do. I think it is safe to say that he was quite taken with himself. I would say, "give that baby a kiss" and he did, over and over again. He would smile and wave at himself too. So cute!

Marshall's Nicknames

Marshall has been given quite a few nicknames in his almost eight months. It seems a new one is thought up every few weeks. It helps to have a 3 and 4 year old cousin who can help come up with these things. I made a list of the most popular names he is called:

Marsh
Marshie
Marsh-Man
Mo
Mo-Mo (this happens to be the one Scott and I use most often)
Mooshy (this is a cousin Sam original)
Boo
Bub
Bubby

I'm sure I've forgotten some, but these are the ones used most frequently. Not very often is he called his given name. I love sweet little nicknames.

I can't believe he's mine! (Day 4)

I have a better understanding now of how my parents love me. I suppose having a child of your own will make you understand the love of a parent. I would die for this little boy, without thinking and without hesitation. I love him more than I even know how to describe, all you parents know what I mean. I can't believe he's mine, well... he's God's but I am so grateful that God blessed him to me on this earth. I am so thankful for the gift of this special little boy. I can't believe he's mine!

Marshmallow (Day 3)

In the spring and summer our bed looks like a big marshmallow. One of Marshall's nicknames is Marshmallow (he's a little soft)! Here are some pictures of Marshmallow playing on our marshmallow bed.
